Our children should know well our history, our past and our today’s realities. I have repeatedly said that the present-day Armenia, territory named on the map as Republic of Armenia, is a primordial Azerbaijani land. This is a truth. Of course, Zangezur and Irevan khanate are our lands!
Shahumyans and other cruel Armenian criminals like him, who shed the Azerbaijani people’s blood, were presented in Azerbaijan as heroes. Monuments were erected in their honor. You know that a Monument to 26 Baku Commissars was installed in the center of Baku. I ordered to demolish it, to destroy it. I gave this order, personally!
Although the people buried there once carried out cruel actions against the Azerbaijanis, we once again showed tolerance and culture peculiar to the Azerbaijani people and in a civilized manner moved the remains buried there to another place.
But this history should not repeat itself in Azerbaijan. Our children should not ask questions like “Who is it,” “Why are their monuments installed here?” “What have they done for the Azerbaijani people?”
